Mustaqim shows the day's prayer times, notifies you at each one and points you towards the Qibla. It works without an internet connection and collects nothing (privacy policy).
Prayer times
The times differ from my mosque's timetable
Mosques choose a calculation method and often add a few minutes of their own to some prayers. In Settings → Prayer times, pick the method your mosque uses (ask them if you're not sure) and the Asr school you follow. Then use Adjustments to add or remove minutes per prayer until the times match.
I live far north or south
Where twilight lasts very long in summer, Fajr and Isha are set by a convention rather than the sun alone. The app chooses one automatically; you can change it in Settings → Prayer times → High latitudes.
I'm travelling
With "Use my location", times follow you and use your phone's time zone. With a chosen city, times are shown in that city's local time.
Notifications
A notification didn't arrive
- Check that notifications are allowed for the app in iOS Settings → Notifications, and that a Focus mode isn't silencing it.
- Check which prayers are switched on in the app's Settings → Notifications.
- iOS limits how many notifications an app can schedule ahead, so the app plans about twelve days at a time. Opening the app tops them up; if you haven't opened it for a while, it reminds you to.
Qibla
The direction looks wrong
- Hold the phone flat, away from metal, magnets, speakers and cars.
- If the app asks you to calibrate, move the phone in a figure-eight a few times.
- Phone cases with magnets (for example for car mounts or wallets) can throw the compass off.
Location
I don't want to share my location
Choose your city from the list instead (Settings → Prayer times → Location). Even with "Use my location", your position never leaves the phone.
